SYDNEY FASHION FESTIVAL

After working with Kelvin Harries and Helen Turner the week prior for the David Jones Spring/Summer Launch, I was asked to come on board and work with them again on the styling team for the evening show at Sydney Fashion Festival where I once again assisted throughout model fittings and helped put the show together.

Being on the styling team for the David Jones Spring/Summer 2012 Fashion Launch was the best fashion experience I have had to date. Working with Kelvin Harries, Emma Lunn, Helen Turner and Charlotte Mann for a whole month leading up to the show provided invaluable lessons helping me to grow SO SO much as a stylist. I assisted with model fittings, meaning I got to meet all the models, see the clothes just before they hit stores, and get familiar with Australia's best in designer labels. It was pretty incredible learning about how these huge fashion shows are put together, and how important systems and organisation are. Oh, and from this experience, I am also probably the best shoe taper you will EVER meet - try taping 200+ pairs of shoes ! (Please don't send another pair of YSL Tributes my way ever again !) A big highlight of the show also was being assigned to be Miranda Kerr's dresser - Yes, she is one of those freaks of nature who not only are perfection from head to toe, but also have a beautiful personality !

Sending out a big big thank you to my fashion college The Fashion Institute for hooking me up with this incredible gig !

Saying hey to Lara Bingle after the show !

As an intern at Little Hero, I was asked to help out at the Romance Was Born show at Sydney Fashion Week 2012. I was appointed to be an usher, escorting the VIPs to their seats dressed in a Romance Was Born boiler suit - not the most stylish outfit to be wearing for all the fashionistas to see you in but it definitely was a quirky idea appropriate for a bold creative MARVEL comics inspired collection and set. I will forever associate this show with Grimes' "Oblivion" - I will never forget hearing this song in the show giving me goosebumps ! Truly an incredible experience, being able to watch the show and be a part of the atmosphere was amazing.

LOUIS VUITTON SS12 SYDNEY LAUNCH

In February 2012 I was lucky enough to be helping backstage at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer Sydney Media/VIP Launch, hosted upstairs in the sparkling new Sydney flagship store building. The launch featured a runway show, presented by then Harper's Bazaar editor-in-chief Edwina McCann. The beautiful Montana Cox opened the show. I have also included in this post a couple of images of my favourite looks/accessories, from style.com when the collection first showed at Paris Fashion Week.
